Position Summary
The Mixing Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining batching and mixing equipment to produce high-quality materials used in construction, geotechnical, or environmental projects. This role ensures compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards while optimizing plant efficiency and production output.
Forgen Deep Foundations Overview
At Forgen, we deploy a wide range of deep foundation techniques, including driven piles of all types, drilled shafts, auger-cast/displacement piles, micro piles, secant/tangent piles, helical piles, stone columns, deep soil mixing and dynamic compaction. As a prime contractor or subcontractor, we offer customized solutions for material supply, installation, or full turnkey services, delivering high-quality results for ground improvement, excavation support, and complex foundation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mixing and batching equipment to produce materials such as grout, concrete, or specialized soil-cement mixtures according to project specifications.
- Monitor plant controls, material flow, and batch consistency to ensure production meets quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment to prevent downtime.
- Adjust mix designs as necessary to meet environmental conditions and engineering requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, batch logs, and production reports.
- Follow company safety policies and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate with field crews, quality control personnel, and project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Perform housekeeping duties to keep the plant and surrounding work areas clean and safe.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- The following safety training is preferred, but not mandatory. Company will provide additional training, as necessary.
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER training
- Competent Person Safety Training
- 8-Hour Supervisory Training
- 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
- First Aid and CPR
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work conditions and demands may vary, with possible exposure to heavy machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather. Proper PPE, including protective eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots, is required. Effective communication, tool use, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
