Position Summary

A Foreman supervises and troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site. In addition to ensuring safety rules are always followed, they develop work schedules based upon the availability of employees or contractors and weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, Manage and be Accountable (LMA) for their direct reports.
  • Perform the roles and responsibilities for Foreman as listed on the Accountability Chart.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Report project progress to superiors.
  • Develop a work schedule for workers.
  • Supervise all construction workers.
  • Be the liaison between construction workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Solve disputes between workers.
  • Ensure that a project is adequately staffed.
  • Assign tasks to construction workers.
  • Ensure that the project is staying on or under budget.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Perform quality checks on construction equipment.
  • Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • One plus years of leadership experience.
  • Seven plus years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience working and living in remote field sites.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The following safety training is preferred, but not mandatory. Company will provide additional training, as necessary.
    • 40 Hour HAZWOPER training.
    • Competent Person Safety Training
    • 8-Hour Supervisory Training
    • 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
    • First Aid and CPR

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work conditions and demands may vary, with possible exposure to heavy machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather. Proper PPE, including protective eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots, is required. Effective communication, tool use, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
