The CAPE-Forgen Joint Venture will rapidly restore 17 levee sites in California’s Central Valley, aiming for completion by mid-November 2024.
The CAPE-Forgen Joint Venture has been selected to complete a task order under the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District’s Rapid Disaster Infrastructure (RDI) Contract. This contract is a rapid response contract vehicle designed for the rapid delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the United States.
For this task order, the USACE Sacramento District is being leveraged by the USACE Omaha District to expedite critical repairs to levee infrastructure under the Public Law 84-99 (PL84-99) program. The PL84-99 program is a USACE initiative that supports state and local governments in responding to and recovering from flood events.
The CAPE-Forgen team will restore 17 levee sites across three levee systems that were severely damaged by recent catastrophic rainstorms in California’s Central Valley. The project will kick off this month (September 2024), with the team executing tasks simultaneously across all three levee systems to ensure completion by mid-November 2024. The scope of work includes clearing, excavation, geotextile installation, levee fill material placement, and the import and placement of quarry stone.
Stay tuned for updates as the CAPE-Forgen Joint Venture progresses with this critical project.
