Forgen will expand its impressive flood protection portfolio with the addition of the Natomas Reach A Levee Repair Project, a 3.5-mile levee improvement project along the Sacramento River. The project, scheduled to break ground in April 2022, is one of nine reaches of levee along a 42-mile span that will provide additional flood protection for Natomas Basin’s 99,000 residents.

 “Our team has been performing flood protection work in the Sacramento area since the early 2000s and we’re excited to continue our partnership with the United States Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District on this project. Many of our employees and their families call the Sacramento area home, and we feel honored to play a role in protecting it for generations to come,” said Matt Marks, Senior Vice President of Forgen’s Geotechnical Division.

 Members of the Forgen team are currently wrapping up a different segment of the levee improvement initiative, Reach H, and are ready to hit the ground running on this next phase. As part of the project, Forgen will construct a deep mix-in-place cutoff wall to depths of up to 150 feet and an adjacent levee. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2022.
