President & CEO
CHRIS SHEA is President and CEO of Forgen where he is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the company, including capturing new market segments, developing partnerships nationwide, and promoting Forgen’s growth, expansion, and ultimate success. Chris has been in the environmental and remediation industry for nearly 30 years and has extensive P&L experience. Most recently, Chris was President of CH2M’s Environmental and Nuclear Business group and was the key leader in profitably growing the business while reshaping the group’s strategy. With a proven track record of driving innovation, increasing profitability, and sustaining organizational excellence in all market conditions, Chris has successfully built business units from the ground up as well as turned around faltering operations. Previously, Chris was a Senior Vice President/ Director of Construction for CH2M Hill, overseeing major project and program execution, people management and business development. He also held leadership positions at Envirocon and other remediation contractors pursuing similar markets.
SVP, Chief Operations Officer
KEVIN STRAHLEY has more than 30 years of experience in the environmental remediation industry including 10 years at Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) where he directly managed eight projects totaling more than $80M in value. Kevin’s management expertise includes technical approach formulation and implementation, cost estimating and control, subcontractor evaluation and management, and equipment and personnel scheduling. He is responsible for all operational aspects of Forgen, as well as assisting Forgen’s President, Chris Shea, in the development and execution of the long-term strategy and growth of the company. Previously, Kevin was Director of Remediation Services at Envirocon, Inc., where he was responsible for safety, profitability, and success of a $50 million service line, as well as overall operations, estimation, and business development. Prior to Envirocon, Kevin was Vice President of Operations at Ferguson Harbour, Inc.
SVP, Chief Financial Officer
BRUCE DIETTERT serves as Chief Financial Officer for Forgen where he is responsible for directing all financial and fiscal aspects of the firm including financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, strategic planning, quality management, and promoting process improvement. Prior to his role at Forgen, Bruce was Chief Financial Officer at Magnus Pacific, LLC where he was responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, treasury, risk management, internal controls, and contracts. Bruce has also worked in various accounting roles at Ernst & Young, LLP and Henley, Burnett & Associates, P.S. Bruce is a Certified Public Accountant.
SVP, Business Development
MIKE COPELAND has over 35 years of experience in environmental remediation and consulting, waste transportation and disposal, emergency and disaster response, water resource management, and flood control construction and engineering- operating in both the Public (Federal, State and Local Government) and Private Sectors. He brings to the team expertise in building and leading sales teams, and coordinating critical initiatives. Prior to joining Forgen, Mike previously held positions as SVP Business Development, Director of Business Development, and EVP at various companies within our industry. Mike will report to the President of Forgen and will be responsible for leading all business development and marketing activities
VP, Safety & Health
As VP of Environmental Safety & Health, LEO GRINSTEINER is responsible for overall safety and health operations for Forgen. Leo’s experience includes over 25 years in a broad range of construction and industrial projects including oil refineries, industrial and process facilities, large commercial and government buildings, high rise residential, and military and civilian hospitals. With this extensive knowledge, Leo has been a safety leader on large projects as well as a project director for the development of safety training products used around the world. Prior to joining Forgen, Leo was the Safety Director/North West Region at Parsons Corporation, where he provided services, training, auditing, risk assessments, and safety plan reviews throughout the northwestern United States. Prior to Parsons Corporation, he held several safety positions with increasing levels of responsibility and scope.
SVP, East Region
HARRY FOREMAN has 31 years of experience in the Environmental Remediation Services sector serving the Oil & Gas, Industrial, Energy, Mining, Manufacturing and Government industries within North America. As Senior Vice President of Eastern Operations at Forgen, Mr. Foreman is responsible for the overall Eastern US operations servicing the environmental remediation, geotechnical and infrastructure business. The Eastern US operations include more than 100 employees. Mr. Foreman is based out of the Denver CO, Operations center. Under Mr. Foreman’s leadership, the remediation, geotechnical and infrastructure service lines provide a portfolio of self-performance services to clients ranging from planning, estimating, proposal development/preparation, and all aspects of project management and execution for Industrial, Oil and Gas, Energy and Mining clients.
SVP, West Region
MATT MARKS has more than 20 years of experience in environmental and geotechnical construction including mine reclamation and major remediation projects in remote locations across the United States. Matt's responsibilities include project development, estimating, implementing quality control and site safety programs, client relations, and overall project management. He received his Bachelor of Science in Earth & Mineral Sciences from Pennsylvania State University, University Park.
VP, Chief Contracting Officer
JOSHUA RETZKI is Chief Contracting Officer (CCO) of Forgen and is also Vice President and member of the Executive Leadership Team. Josh provides overall management and executive oversight of all contract services, and risk management for the entire company nationwide. Over the last 17 years, Josh has built a professional career in contract management, project management and civil engineering oversight for large scale infrastructure development and procurement processes within both private and public sectors. He has a strong and diversified range of contract experiences managing more than $4 billion dollars of projects, and has used his business acumen to successfully lead an assortment of different projects and deals over this time. Josh is passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes and empowering his team members with the right advice at the right time.
Melinda J. Mier
Human Resources Manager
MELINDA MIER joined Forgen in April of 2012 with more than 12 years of Human Resource experience in both the government and private sector. Her responsibilities include overseeing, managing and implementing the organization’s HR programs and policies as they apply to employee relations, compensation, counseling, benefits, claims investigations, safety, performance, job classifications, staff training and development, data analysis, salary evaluations, employee retention and staffing levels. She also manages recruiting efforts for key management positions throughout the United States and ensures we are legally compliant with local, state and federal law. Prior to Forgen, Melinda was assigned as the military Personnelist in charge of the Commander’s Support Staff, Intelligence Support Squadron, Beale AFB. She has deployed more than 1500 troops in support of various military operations throughout the globe. Her military experience gave her a vast understanding of what it takes to mobilize employees to various jobsites throughout the country, making her an excellent fit for Forgen’s national presence. Melinda continues to serve her country as a Reservist in the Air Force Reserve.
